Carl Toppin Memorial Tournament Information
Hi Everyone,
Carl Toppin Memorial Tournament 2012
As you are aware I have been given the honour to
arrange the Carl Toppin Memorial Tournament on behalf of the big shot, which is
to commemorate Carls dedication and gift to Inline Hockey, Carl was a very
thoughtful man with time for everyone and always a positive word with
encouragement and advice, being involved with inline Hockey he made so many
friends and played or coached with most of us.
Having already booked a venue for an Easter Tournament I announced this on
facebook and have been inundated with request from teams and individual players
to participate. Due to this overwhelming demand and trying to accommodate all we
have decide to continue to accept teams and players etc until
31st January, we will then decide if more than one tournament
will suffice or perhaps need 2 or 3 tournaments culminating in a final
tournament of winners where the Very Special Trophy won by Coach Carl and the GB
team in 1997 donated to us by Carls family will be ￢ﾀﾘwon￢ﾀﾙ for a year to be
returned for the next winner, with an annul tournament in is honour.
Teams selected to play must comprise of those who have either played with Carl
or been coached by him ￢ﾀﾓ please do not ask for players who had no association
with Carl as there are many who can fulfil these places in your team. Therefore we have put a few requirements in place: All teams wishing to
enter are asked to send a few lines explaining how they knew Carl and any
special times with him and why they want to be part of this special event. If
successful this will be used in the Tournament Programme along with any team
photo you have with Carl in it. Single players may apply also. Please email to

There are many individuals who
played with Carl several years ago who once again want to enjoy the rink and to
this end we will hopefully be creating a Big Shot team. Players from
USA
,
Northern Ireland
and
Australia
want to participate
Once all teams and players names are known
we will select those for the first Tournament which will take place at Easter
￢ﾀﾓ please do not be disappointed if you are not on this list, we are confident
that everyone will have their time on the rink either at Easter or at another
Tournament soon after. We will start
afresh with a new set of teams. Apologies to those 10 teams previously selected
but this seems a much better way.
I hope you all understand our predicament to ensure all can play for the
right reasons and the financial cost involved, many have offered their
sponsorship and services for free, but we will need more sponsorship however
small and volunteers. All spectators are welcome FOC.

have Fun, Play great hockey, and to be together to honour and remember our great
and very sadly missed CT xx
